Happy New Year!

I was going to spend New Year's at home, but Arne made sure I went out. First we went to Yumla, a small bar in Hong Kong known for booking good DJs. Then we went to Halo, an exclusive member's only spot.

Arne's friend Michelle met us at Yumla and we all went to Halo.

Then we had a champagne toast.

And drank the night away!

Here Comes the Cottontail

Clayton alerted me of Roxy Cottontail's visit to Hong Kong to dj at this event. While I didn't make it to her gig (too pooped!), we met up over the next two days and hung out, ate, partied and shopped. It was nice having some New York flavor in Hong Kong for the weekend!

Adidas: "Sport in Art"

Last night I attended an opening at the Opera Gallery for Adidas sponsored exhibit called "Sport in Art".

There was lots of Moët

And there was a sculpture of a big boobed chick

And a sculpture of a stretched out man sitting on a bench

And a runner painted on top of a photo of a naked Asian chick (I bet this artist has an Asian fetish!)

And mobile of flying military man birds!

Another Thursday, Another Night at the Watermark

Yesterday morning I got an e-mail in my inbox about a party for a new store called Think Silly. "All of Hong Kong's cool kids will be there," wrote the person who sent me the invite, who was connected to me through somebody I know in New York. After a spicy Sichuan dinner with my co-workers, I headed back to the Watermark and got a taste of what Hong Kong scenesters are like:
